How I agree with Gina Ware and Ian Slater (Letters, November 18 and 19) about Brighton and Hove having the worst social services in the country.
The social services staff are lovely people but the terrible waste of money they manage is all wrong.
The people who shout long and loud at Brighton and Hove City Council get all the help they need and more besides - a well-known fact - but those who are too ill to shout go without.
As with most things, it is false economy to have so many cutbacks.
The streets are never swept so when the leaves block the drains it costs more to unblock them than to have cleaners, as we had in the past.
The youth clubs are non-existent and pubs allow children in bars, even babies-in-arms, which does not bode well for the future.
Children think it right to be in pubs and bars and as teenagers they think it is normal.
