Two muscle men from Sussex have claimed three golds between them at the World Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships in Vienna, Austria.
Dave Webb and Justin Read, from the Forest Gym in Crawley, were in dominant form as part of the Great Britain team taking part in these 26th annual championships.
The duo found themselves up against competitors from Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, Italy, Poland, India and Austria.
The powerlifting titles were contested on the first of the two-day competition and first to claim gold was Webb in the Masters' 75kg class for competitors aged over 40.
Webb started with a squat of 200kg, followed that by registering 130kg in the bench press and then finished with a best of 210kg in the dead lift which earned him a total of 540kg and the gold medal.
Read contested the open 90kg class and he lifted 260kg in the squat, 175 in the bench press and 285kg in the dead lift. His total of 720kg was down on last year but was still enough to clinch him the gold medal.
In Sunday's World Bench Press Championships, Read did not take part but Webb lifted a tortuous 127.5kg to win a second gold meal.
Webb said: "Hopefully next year we will successfully defend our titles on home territory, as the championships are to be held in Aldershot."
