An explosive shipping flare washed up on a Sussex beach, prompting a warning from coastguards.
Walkers have been told to be cautious after the canister was found in Shoreham.
Two other potentially lethal devices were found on beaches at Lymington and Hayling Island, Hampshire, yesterday.
Coastguard watch officer David Williams said: "These particular canisters are extremely dangerous, due to the phosphorus content.
"When the canister is wet it remains stable. However, when it dries out it can explode."
The green cylindrical canisters have "Warning do not touch - notify police" written on them in red.
They are believed to have come from the south-west.
Anyone who comes across the flares should not touch them and immediately ring the coastguard on 999.
