Midhurst warmed up for one of their biggest ever cup dates by scoring a double over the Sussex Two leaders.
They scored a shock 23-17 home success over St Francis, helped by a hat-trick of tries from centre Simon Jenkins.
The result gives Midhurst two precious league points and also counts as a first round tie in the Sussex Intermediate shield.
It also puts them in great heart ahead of next Saturday's Powergen Junior Vase trip to Stowmarket.
Club president Peter Jones said; "We have got a coach organised for that one and there is a lot of interest in the game from around the club."
Midhurst were 12-6 down before Jenkins stole the show.
Mike Morgan's two penalties accounted for their early points and he later kicked a conversion.
