A man was ordered not to pester his estranged wife for two years.
Guy Mepham, 35, was given a two-year restraining order by Worthing magistrates yesterday for harassing his wife during a two-day barrage of telephone calls and visits.
Claire Ellis, prosecuting, said Mepham, of The Lawns, Sompting, near Worthing, had been married to the defendant since 1994 but the relationship had been volatile and divorce proceedings were going through county court.
Mrs Ellis said: "The wife had formed a relationship with another man, who she says is only a friend.
"The defendant had taken this particularly badly and over a course of two days, from September 9 to 10, pestered her. At the marital home, he made numerous attempts to rekindle the relationship."
She said Mepham called the wife dozens of times and caused further difficulties at her friend's house, where he was later arrested.
Mepham was also given a 12-month community rehabilitation order and had to pay £55 costs.
