So, Simon Fanshawe is miffed some theatre producers are miffed he raises £150,000 a year for all who can apply for some of it to fund arts projects in Brighton and Hove (Letters, December 12).

What he fails to say is why producers are so miffed with him.

Perhaps if he employed a little empathy in his thought processes he would be able to better respond to such criticism.

Let us not lose our focus on exactly what a mess this little town - which thinks it is so big - is in.

The decision-makers have no answers and any hint of helpful suggestion is met with the sort of denial one would expect from a guilty little child.

Well, "It wasn't me" will not win an election but the slightest hint of honesty might.

You have a few months left to prove - yes, prove - your worth to us residents. Do what we ask and all will be fine. Don't and you will lose.

These boots were made for walking, not kicking the ball back into someone else's court. Now try taking responsibility for your actions and stop making any opposition a sworn enemy.
