A Sussex woman has been accused of being a member of a Turkish terrorist group.
Songul Ozgur, 27, from Brighton, was among three men and three women who appeared at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in London yesterday.
The group has been charged under the Terrorism Act for their alleged involvement with the extreme left-wing organisation DHKP-C, also known as the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front.
The defendants are accused of transferring money raised in the UK to Cologne in Germany and Istanbul in Turkey, for use by the group.
It is alleged some of the accused were found in possession of magazines, videos and posters, which support DHKP-C.
The three men are Rory O'Driscoll, 29 and Allaatin Kalander, 36, both of Stoke Newington, north London, and Gurkan Gur, 38, of Hyde, Cheshire.
The two other women were Selver Kapan, 30, of Islington, north London, and Birten Kalayci, 30, of Finsbury Park, London.
In March last year, DHKP-C was denounced by the then Home Secretary Jack Straw.
All six defendants were remanded on bail, with sureties ranging between £1,500 and £10,000, to reappear at the same court on January 13.
District Judge Timothy Workman ordered all the defendants to surrender their passports and banned them from selling or distributing copies of a Turkish-based magazine.
In May this year, DHKP-C was one of 11 organisations added to the European Union terrorism list. The group is alleged to have carried out bombings in Turkey.
