Hailsham-based Wayne Alexander was left frustrated after his fight with Ukrainian Victor Fessetchko at Newcastle on Saturday was scrapped at the last moment.
The British and European light-middleweight champion had hoped to use the contest as a warm-up for a world title bid in February.
But Alexander weighed in 2lb too heavy at 11st 10lb and Fessetchko, who weighed in considerably lighter at 10st 13lb, used his prerogative to have the contest called off.
Alexander is now in talks with his manager Frank Warren over his next fight.
