A council is planning a crackdown on parking in a road surrounded by industrial units.
Worthing Borough Council's legal officials could serve an enforcement notice ordering the owner to remove the vehicles from Harrison Road, East Worthing, but they have decided to hold fire for the time being.
The owner has promised to remove them by January 31 but does not believe he is breaching any rules.
The cars are related to a spare parts business in Decoy Villa, one of only three residential properties in the road.
The council admitted that parking on Harrison Road had been a problem for more than 20 years.
Complaints have also been received about the parking of vehicles related to the scrapyard on nearby Southdownview Road but as most of them are taxed no further action is possible under planning regulations.
