Normally The Argus and other papers are not allowed to publish the names of youths who appear before the courts.
But a judge at Chichester Crown Court has lifted this restriction on two 14-year-old Worthing youths, David Chiswell and Andrew Dillon.
These two louts have been jailed for robbing an 81-year-old woman and have committed a host of other offences.
The judge was right to say the crimes were so serious the public had a right to know who they were.
The attack on the elderly woman was cowardly and wicked. Worthing will be relieved they are off the streets.
Both boys will have plenty of time to consider the enormity of their crimes. Other young thugs can expect tough sentences. They may also be named and shamed.
