A blind pensioner who was robbed in her home has been given an early Christmas present.
Kathleen Amos, 96, was presented with a bouquet by representatives of Haywards Heath police station.
Ann Holmes, an investigation support assistant, organised the collection after hearing of Miss Amos' plight.
The spinster, who lives with her cat in Haywards Heath, had two gold and sapphire rings stolen by an intruder when he forced his way into her house earlier this month.
The rings were of huge sentimental value as one had originally belonged to her sister Eileen, who died eight years ago.
Detective Constable Clinton Novelle, of Haywards Heath CID, presented the flowers to Miss Amos.
He said: "We wanted to do something to brighten up Miss Amos' Christmas after what she has been through. She was absolutely delighted to receive the bouquet."
