To whoever hit a puppy on the A27 between Downlands and Hillbarn on Sunday, December 22, at about 11.30am, and was in too much of a rush or too scared to stop, you will be pleased to know the puppy was not killed - no thanks to you or the other cars that sped past.
It was a miracle it was not hit again -it would have been a goner then, for sure.
Yes, the dog did look dead but the drivers who did stop - two of us - found it was alive and, with the owner, managed to get it into the back of my car and take it to Grove Lodge Veterinary Hospital, where it is now recovering.
Apart from your conscience telling you to stop, did you know that by law you
are required to report hitting a dog?
I hope your Christmas was not spoiled too much by this event. I'm sure it wasn't.
