Brighton are being touted among the favourites to win the country's top junior tournament.
Hoopfest takes place at Crystal Palace on Monday with eight top sides doing battle.
Organisers at hosana.co.uk reckon Hackney, Brighton and the all-star Select Ballers will be the teams to beat.
Andy Smith, back from Kerr Vance for a festive break, is being lined up to play for Phil Waghorn's Brighton side along with current Bear Bud Johnston.
Other names to watch include 15-year-old Paul Guede, who already plays for Hackney in the NBL Conference, and two of the Select Ballers, Eric Boateng and 6ft.9ins Alex Wilkins.
A high calibre women's event is headlined by Ellesmere Port and French visitors Calais. Action starts at 10.30am with four courts in use all day. Finals are due to start at about 5.45pm.
