Association of British Drivers spokesman Mark McArthur-Christie complains parking attendants are now "pursuing the letter of the law" with regard to issuing parking tickets (Letters, December 23).
Rather than complaining, Mark should be congratulating them. Issuing tickets to people who park illegally is, after all, what wardens are employed to do.
Avoiding a ticket is quite simple, really. It just requires that you park legally. If you are not capable of that, you should not be driving at all.
Road accidents would be reduced if motorists obeyed the law rather than thinking speed limits and parking restrictions were inconveniences they can just ignore.
