How disappointing the campaigners against the renovation of the West Pier have enabled this very sad day to happen. I am disgusted with every single one of those people and companies.
How dare the Palace Pier have the nerve to campaign as it has? It is an absolute disgrace it feels it can carry the name of the city. Save Our Seafront, you obviously wish to continue to view the seafront in the derelict manner it remains today.
All the hard and greatly appreciated work the West Pier Trust has done must continue. The pier deserves to be saved.
All you campaigners, remember the seafront belongs to all of us. Today, I am embarrassed to admit I live in what is generally a great city and one I had always been proud of.
Brighton and Hove planners, Save Our Seafront and Noble Organisation, listen: The West Pier will be saved. Get used to it.
