The King Alfred centre, the West Pier and the football ground - the common denominator in each is delay, delay, delay.

I am certain if any of these were a case of big business plans for a new hotel or office block, the plans would fly through with no delays.

As the aforementioned projects are simply to provide a facility for the pleasure and enjoyment of the local community, there always seems to be protracted wranglings and negotiations, often because of a minority of dissenting voices.

What has happened to democracy, where the will of the majority should prevail? It has disappeared into the pockets and egos of self-interested councillors and politicians.
