While the West Pier crumbles, entrepreneurs are seizing the opportunity to sell off a piece of history.
Debris from the structure is already for sale on internet auction site E-bay.
So far the highest bid is just 10p but the sellers hope the pieces will appeal to people with a love of Brighton unable to salvage their own.
One seller said: "This compact piece in wood was found washed up on Brighton beach and would make a novel souvenir. It could also double as a handy stake to drive through the heart of any vampire.
"I will gladly ship internationally to any Brighton expats who are feeling homesick. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
