I understand exactly how Ben Reeves feels (The Argus, December 28). I live near Bolney but when my car was towed away after being stolen in Crawley last year, Sussex Police took it to Shoreham.
We eventually bowed to the pressure of the police, who kept harassing us to sign over ownership to them.
The same happened two years ago, when my wife's car was towed from Falmer to somewhere miles out of the area. We never found out where and lost that one, too.
Incidentally, we are both disabled, on benefits and cannot do without our own transport. If Ben and anyone else who has been treated in this way would like to call me on 01444 250853 or email me at lloyd@lloydo.net, I am constructing a web site to try to put pressure on Sussex Police to change this dreadful policy.
