The inability of Sussex Police to respond to what most citizens would regard as significant cases is becoming a scandal.

It is incumbent on the chief officer of any organisation unable to meet its commitments as a consequence of a lack of resources to seriously consider resignation of that position.

Crime is indivisible. We appear to have reached a position where the police not only seem to think there are major and minor crimes but they are also to be the only arbiters of which laws are to be enforced.

The chief officer of our force is, of course, the Chief Constable.
