A premium bond owner was made a millionaire in a New Year jackpot.
The winner, whose name has not been released, lives in East Sussex and was told of his tax-free fortune on New Year's Day.
A spokesman for National Savings and Investments Premium Bonds said the winner, known only by bond number 24HF 533588, originally paid £2,000 for it in April 1992.
He is the second millionaire to be created since the monthly jackpot was launched in 1994.
The first winner also came from East Sussex.
Across the county 620,000 people hold Premium Bonds worth more than £711 million.
Of these a total of £10,279 worth of prizes are still unclaimed.
