A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on a busy bypass.
The victim, from Crowhurst, near Hastings, was riding on the A27 Pevensey bypass, near Eastbourne, just after 4.30pm yesterday.
His Honda machine was in collision with a Rover 25 saloon car travelling west. An Austin Metro was also involved.
The motorcyclist, who has not been named, was taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital but died from his injuries.
The Rover driver, a 58-year-old woman from Eastbourne, and the 40-year-old woman driver of the Austin, from Pevensey Bay, were taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, a woman of 78 died last night after an accident involving a car on the B2204 at Catsfield, near Battle, close to the White Hart pub.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings but died later.
