The collapse of the West Pier has long been a familiar sight to members of a Worthing arts group.
Adrian Crick completed a painting in 1999 which shows the southern end of the pier falling in on itself.
The art, called Decrepit Samurai, was based on a collage of photographs.
Mr Crick, from Worthing, sold the painting and it is now in the private collection of a Brighton resident.
It will be shown at The Acacia guesthouse in Worthing next month.
Arts group RAG SOURCE founder Dan Thompson said: "This was already a very powerful and popular painting but the events of the last few days have added to its interest.
The painting can be seen at www.worthingarts.com
