Reading the letters page on January 2, one could be forgiven for thinking Sussex Police can get nothing right and there was nothing else to write about. Was it a deliberate attempt by the editor to paint such a grim picture?
My continuing regret is that all those people who receive a good service from us rarely write in to The Argus (albeit some do write in to us). I was therefore delighted to receive a letter the same day from a woman whose son has a form of autism, praising the work of PC Tim Critchlow in tackling teenagers who had made the boy's life a misery with bullying, taunts, ridicule and assault. My faith in the community was restored.
-Inspector Mark Powles, Police Station, Holland Road, Hove
