Television viewers in Sussex have been given their first chance to check the progress of Richard Midgley with the California Golden Bears.
Cal's 80-67 defeat to powerful Kansas in the Pete Newell Challenge was shown live in this country by the NASN network.
Those who tuned in saw a decent display by the teenager from Burgess Hill, who sank both his three-point attempts and was one-of-four from closer in for his eight points in 20 minutes.
The game was played at the Arena in Oakland, home of the Golden State Warriors, and attracted 15,734 fans.
Midgley added 16 points, his best yet for Cal, in the unconvincing 77-70 home win over San Francisco in a non-conference clash.
