Gavin Geddes score five times as Horsham cruised to a 6-2 victory over Molesey in division one south.
He is the first Horsham player to score five in a game since Danny Deans in August, 1986.
Manager John Maggs said: "That was quality finishing, every one was well taken."
Geddess set the ball rolling in the first minute when he volleyed home from just inside the area following James Bird's left-wing free-kick.
A floated Steve Payne corner was headed in by skipper Eddie French in the sixth minute but the visitors hit back three minutes later when left-back Dante Alighieri's low strike just beat the diving Ian Chatfield. Hornets stretched their lead in the 35th minute when David Flemming chased a long clearance, slipped the ball to Geddes and he lashed home.
Moles had Nko Ekoku sent off a minute later for retaliation against Stuart Hardy but they rallied and reduced the arrears in first-half injury time when Damien Panter rose highest to head home Sam Lampard's corner.
Geddes secured his hat-trick in the 69th minute and added further goals in the 80th and 82nd minutes.
Bognor kept in touch with the division two south leaders after a 1-0 win against Banstead at Nyewood Lane.
Jodey Rowland scored the decisive goal with a bobbling shot in the 33rd minute.
Manager Jack Pearce said: "That was frustrating. We deserved more than a solitary goal."
