Police have called off a murder inquiry after a post-mortem on a woman found dead in a flat.
Murder squad detectives carried out house-to-house inquiries yesterday after finding the body at Richmond Court, off Wykeham Road, Worthing.
An investigation, code-named Operation District, was launched and the area was taped off.
But a post-mortem held yesterday afternoon found that the woman, in her eighties, had died of natural causes.
The victim, who lived alone, had been dead for several days before police broke into her flat shortly after 11pm on Sunday after neighbours and friends raised concerns.
