I was amused by Terry Wing's remarks about the lack of response by the police (Letters, January 2), especially after reading Chief Constable Ken Jones' message for the New Year on page 3 of the same edition of The Argus: "I can't do a lot for you but I can do a lot with you."
Tell that to Mr Wing. We then read on further to see Chief Constable Nigel Yeo telling us he can supply more officers should Fatboy Slim's beach concert be allowed again.
Wouldn't it be nice to be officially informed where the police's priorities lie or have we all to walk around totally oblivious of the increased crime going on around us, as car crime takes precedence because it looks good on government figures?
