For some time, I have been fascinated by the way our glorious leaders manage to confuse the action of a criminal with the tool he utilises.
In themselves, there is no danger in a loaded firearm, an open knife or a piece of glass but add someone with intent or stupid enough to leave it
on the beach and you have a tragedy waiting to happen.
Demonising things, be they guns, knives or chewing gum (or whatever will provide the most attractive soundbite), has no function whatsoever in reducing the danger to the law-abiding population.
As our offspring are no longer subject to any form of discipline, either parental or judicial, things can only get worse until someone is brave enough to reverse the "social-workerish" attitude which rewards, rather than punishes, anti-social behaviour.
