A policeman arrested on suspicion of downloading child pornography has resigned from the Sussex force.
The Brighton-based PC was suspended soon after his arrest last year.
A force spokesman confirmed today: "The officer concerned has resigned. He has not been charged and remains free on bail pending further inquiries."
Meanwhile, a former Sussex Police inspector is awaiting trial on 27 counts of downloading child pornography.
Former inspector Chris Wratten, 48, has also resigned from the force and is free on bail.
Sussex Police launched an investigation after tip-offs from the FBI.
