I am sure like so many of your readers, I am sick and tired of reading about the pros and cons on the future of the West Pier.

It appears every argument comes down to the question of cost, the latest of which I have only just heard - hand it gratis to the Royal Engineers, whom I am sure would appreciate it to practise a cheap and effective way of reducing it to matchsticks.

I am not suggesting this would be approved by the majority of Brightonians and Hoveites but at least it would be a new and different suggestion.
