The Japan Karate Association has five rules for training. They are: Seek perfection of character; be faithful; endeavour; respect others; and refrain from violent behaviour.
These rules can be traced back to the 6th Century and it is good to know at least one doorman in Brighton and Hove encapsulates their spirit today.
