Now the bus service to Asda at Brighton Marina is as good as we are going to get, is it time to start campaigning for a clean-up of the access tunnel - commonly known as the biggest open sewer in Brighton - between the bus stop and the store?
The stench there is quite sickening and it should be hosed down with disinfectant every morning, after the sleepers (God help them) have vacated the area.
Secondly, the ingress and egress to the tunnel need to be clearly marked with a yellow box to warn motorists there are quite a few foot passengers in the area, with loaded trolleys, pushchairs and shopping bags, who - even if they walk sideways and breathe in - have difficulty negotiating this commando course when it is blocked by a parked car.
I have approached the Marina, Asda and cinema managements on all these issues and, last Wednesday, thought we were in with a chance when I found workmen painting the disabled parking area in the main car park.
However, I was told by one his remit is to paint only in red, white and blue.
To get yellow lines we have to apply to a company in Lincoln, who will come and do it for a fee.
