The first inter-secondary school basketball tournament for girls has been declared a success.
Sporty pupils from The Angmering School scooped top place in the tournament, which was held between secondary schools in the Arun district.
The tournament, which was only open to girls, was split into two competitions, one for Years 7 and 8, the other for Years 9 and 10.
In total, almost 60 girls put their skills to the test at The Arena sports centre in Bognor.
The two competitions were based on a league, with all teams playing each other.
The final in the Year 9 and 10 tournament was between The Angmering School and Bognor. After a tough match, Angmering came out on top.
The team finished the tournament with a 100 per cent win rate.
In the Year 7 and 8 tournament The Angmering School students again took the title with maximum wins. Bognor again came second, with the girls of St Philip Howard in Barnham in third spot.
Angmering will almost certainly have the chance to defend their double win next year as the tournament looks like becoming an annual event.
Organisers also hope the tournament will encourage some of the girls to join the Amazons Girls Basketball Club, which meets weekly at the Arena sports centre.
The club, for girls aged 11 and over, is trying to recruit new players as it looks to develop local girls' basketball.
