One person was injured and traffic chaos ensued after a five-vehicle pile-up on the A27 at Lancing today.
A lorry and four other vehicles were in collision on the westbound carriageway near the Sussex Pad pub before midday.
Police closed the road between the Holmbush roundabout and the Southwick Hill tunnel while they dealt with the accident.
The lorry is believed to have contained gas cylinders.
