A new community stadium for Brighton and Hove Albion could be completed within only two years.
That's the encouraging news the club has delivered to the city council about the proposal at Falmer.
Originally cash constraints obliged the club to look at a four-phase construction which would have taken a decade to complete.
Building it in one go is much more satisfactory both for the fans and for minimising disruption while the work progresses.
Clubs all over England are planning new stadia and some have already been successfully built in places such as Sunderland and Huddersfield.
A community stadium would benefit not only the Albion but also the whole of Brighton and Hove.
It's good to know if planning approval is obtained, the club will be ready to press ahead quickly.
