I was appalled to read about the closure of Brighton's bus station (The Argus, January 16). Pool Valley is a sorry excuse for a bus station for a city of this size to start with but at least Howard Trevette had tried to make it better
by providing more facilities.
There was somewhere warm to wait, where you could get a warm drink and a snack. I am appalled Brighton and Hove City Council will do nothing to help.
Where will people get their coach tickets now? Some drivers insist on passengers getting a ticket before allowing them on board, although tickets are supposed to be freely available on the coaches.
It's quite ironic that on the same page as this story , there was another saying the football stadium is just two years away. I can't wait.
Hasn't the council got its priorities a bit awry here? Given there is so much congestion in the city, surely it should be trying its utmost to provide facilities to encourage people to use buses and coaches.
