Bognor were made to work hard for a 3-0 home win over Epsom and Ewell and move up to third in Division One South.
The hosts enjoyed plenty of possession in the first-half, but they didn't test Dave Hyatt until injury time when Richard Hudson's dipping volley was clawed away by the Epsom 'keeper.
The visitors were content to soak up pressure but they did threaten on the break through Barry Stevens and Ray Power.
Bognor's breakthrough came on 69 minutes when Lee Stevens was upended just inside the box by James Hall and Michael Birmingham scored from the spot.
Jamie Buckley had a goal disallowed after the referee ruled that his free-kick was indirect and, to make matters worse for the visitors, they found themselves further behind in the 78th minute when Birmingham's cross was only partially cleared and when Hudson sent the ball back into the box Nicky Wyatt headed home at the far post.
The contest was over in the 85th minute when Rob O'Shaugnessy powerfully headed home at the far post following a Hudson corner.
Bognor boss Jack Pearce said: "It was always going to be a frustrating afternoon when sides are happy to sit back and defend in numbers.
"If you stay patient you should get your reward, and we did."
