A mother is celebrating today after winning more than £77,000 on a lottery scratchcard.

Lucky Tracey Smith, 36, bought the card from her local newsagent in Horsham.

She could not believe her luck when she realised that she had won £77,777 on the Double Red Hot 7s National Lottery card.

Tracey said: "I buy my scratchcard and Lotto tickets from Shelley's Newsagent every week but this time I got really lucky.

"I started to scratch the card as I walked out of the shop when another shopper advised me not to forget to scratch off the whole card as I could easily miss out on a win.

"I decided to see if I had won there and then and to my complete disbelief it appeared I had got the top prize."

Tracey, who has a son Michael, 17, and daughter Georgina, eight, was so shocked when she saw the winning numbers she had to ask a shop worker to check her card for her.

She said: "I wasn't sure what to do, so I told the supervisor who I thought would tell me I had made a mistake.

"But she was as shocked as me when she checked my ticket against the machine and confirmed my win."

Tracey plans to throw a party to celebrate before taking her family on holiday and doing some home improvements.

Her win follows years of playing the lottery. She has bought a lottery ticket almost every week since its launch and gets four lines for every Saturday and Wednesday lotto draw as well as a scratchcard every week.
