Charity concerts by well-known pop stars can make millions.
Why doesn't the West Pier Trust, as an alternative to the long-winded commercial development enterprise, contact some big names, such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, Cliff Richard and so on, with a view to persuading them to organise and participate in a big summer event (such as the Jubilee concert last year) which could possibly finance half the pier's reconstruction costs?
