It is blatantly obvious, staring us in the face - the solution to temporarily housing the asylum-seekers, siting the sewage-treatment works and regenerating the West Pier - all in one go and all in one place.
Yes, site the waste-treatment works below ground on the shoreline, run the long sea outlet below or within the structure that replaces the West Pier, which would be part-funded by Southern Water, and custom-build a processing station for asylum-seekers at the far end, paid for by the Government.
Then, those who are found unacceptable can be shipped back where they came from without setting foot on Brighton soil, while we all enjoy the new pier at no cost to us. Problem solved. Everyone happy. Where's my drawing board? Next...
