Horsham boss John Maggs has ruled himself out of a return to Crawley after seeing his side go out of the Sussex Senior Cup to the Dr Martens League side at Queen Steet last night.
Reds were far from convincing against the Ryman division one south team and needed two goals in the final ten minutes to book their place in the quarter finals against Albion Reserves.
Rob Collins had given the home side an early lead but Crawley hit back through a Ben Judge header.
With extra-time looming Nic McDonnell headed home Judge's cross and substitute Danny Hockton sealed the win with a header four minutes from time.
Maggs, who had a long association with Crawley as a player, manager and chairman, has been one of many names linked with the vacant job after Billy Smith resigned two weeks ago.
Crawley have advertised the position nationally and applicants have until Friday but Maggs says he will not be one of them.
"I haven't thought about it, I'm totally committed to Horsham at the moment and I am very happy here", he said.
"We are moving in the right direction and I am focussed on the job. I hope it pleases the Horsham fans to hear that and some Crawley fans are probably just as pleased I am not going there."
Maggs was pleased with the way his side started the game, taking the lead after just two minutes through Collins who rose unmarked from a Lee Carney corner to head past Andy Little.
"We started really well, but in the end that extra bit of quality came through," Maggs said.
Judge scored the equaliser after 18 minutes with a glancing header into the bottom corner from Mo Harkin's excellent cross.
Crawley squandered a great chance to go ahead on 26 minutes when McDonnell's penalty was superbly saved by former Crawley stopper Ian Chatfield.
McDonnell made amends when he met Judge's cross to guide a header past Chatfield on 81 minutes.
Substitute Hockton headed the winner five minutes later from Marc Pullan's centre having only been on the pitch for two minutes.
Nigel Brake was sent off two minutes from time after saying something to a linesman.
