An HIV-positive disc jockey has been jailed for eight years for repeated rapes on a 17-year-old girl.

Vincent Malonga, convicted after a four-day trial, was put on the sex offenders' register for life and cannot apply for parole until he has served two-thirds of his sentence.

Lewes Crown Court heard how the victim had since undergone an AIDS test and had been given the all-clear.

She had been at a seafront night club in Brighton on New Year's Eve last year when she met three black men.

They agreed to give her a lift to Hove where she was staying but instead, she was driven to East Dean, near Eastbourne.

The car stopped and Malonga raped her three times before she was driven to Hove. Her ordeal lasted six hours.

Malonga pleaded not guilty and argued he had consent.

But his victim broke down in court as she told how she had pleaded to him to leave her alone.

The jury took less than 30 minutes to return a guilty finding yesterday.

DNA profiles found on the victim matched Malonga's DNA, taken when he was convicted previously for a drugs offence.

Malonga, 20 and who lived in The Linkway, Brighton, told the court he was a DJ and had at one time worked at nightclubs in West Street, Brighton.

After yesterday's conviction, Detective Sergeant Pete Smith, said he was satisfied with the outcome.

He said: "The victim is still suffering but she perhaps can now start the long process of healing."
