Haywards Heath can complete a year of home invincibility tomorrow and take another step towards the national league.

Heath have won ten out of ten at Whitemans Green, and also beaten London One leaders Southend when they borrowed Hove's home ground, since February 2 last year, when a couple of late tries dashed their hopes of a win over promotion-headed Basingstoke.

Lowly Canterbury provide the opposition tomorrow and Heath will not mind too much if the game does not match the drama of their last visit, when they lost 6-5 in a game which decided the London Two South title two seasons ago.

Heath skipper Alex Meredith will be happy if his side repeat the first-half performance which eased them past Thanet by 30 points last week.

He said: "We went 32-3 up and it was the best we had played all season.

"Canterbury have got a new outside half who is making a difference and we always expect a hard game against them but we will be confident."

Nick Dinsdale continues at lock having replaced Dave Atkin (shoulder) last week. Nick Killick wears No. 2 but there should also be a chance off the bench for former Heathfield hooker Tom Gribble.

Heath have enough games in hand to overhaul leaders Southend, who go to Winchester tomorrow. Title contenders Hertford are at Thanet.
