An elderly St Leonards woman died after she was knocked to the ground by a runner.
The woman, 92, had left her nursing home in Boscobel Road, to visit a friend yesterday afternoon.
On the way she collided with someone running past at the junction of Pevensey Road who bumped into her but did not stop.
A couple passing in a car stopped to help the woman and drove her to her friend's house at 3pm.
After returning to the nursing home her health deteriorated and she was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings where she died shortly after midnight.
Police today asked the couple who stopped to help and the runner who bumped into the woman to call them on 0845 6070999.
