The online jobseekers market is booming.
The fish4jobs site topped the National Online Recruitment Audience Survey (Noras) independent survey and was 30 per cent ahead of its nearest rival in terms of unique user.
The audit and survey of the major job sites collects information on visitors, including demographic information and their job search behaviour.
Some 71 per cent questioned said they had made an application for a job found online and 29 per cent said they had got the job.
In the three months to the end of November, fish4jobs had more than 817,000 unique users, up from 712,000 last summer, while the next biggest site had 628,000.
It was ahead on the numbers of respondents, placements and users who used one jobs site exclusively.
It had the largest number of candidates in 17 sectors, ranging from aviation to transport.
Visitors to the site performed 2.9 million searches a month.
The Fish4 web sites, which also include fish4homes and fish4cars, were set up by a consortium of companies including Newsquest Media Group, which owns The Argus, and Northcliffe Newspapers Group.
