A date has been set for the introduction of a pay-parking scheme in the Goldsmid area of Hove.
Residents' parking bays are being marked out in the Goldsmid area to prepare for the start on March 17.
Transport councillor Simon Battle said: "Occupiers in the area will receive letters in the middle of this month inviting them to apply for a permit."
Residents' and business permits will be discounted for the first year.
Coun Battle said: "We have aimed to balance the needs of all sections of the community in Goldsmid, giving priority to residents and short-term parking.
"The council is committed to reviewing the scheme by the end of the year, which gives us the opportunity to make adjustments where necessary."
He said the scheme would relieve parts of Goldsmid from knock-on effects of a similar scheme in central Hove and help people park nearer their homes.
