Can anyone think of a good reason why a bar with original Victorian features, the best cellar this side of Brussels and no need of door security staff (even on Saturday nights) is in serious danger of closing in a few weeks' time?
The Quadrant, at Brighton's Clock Tower, is one of the very few unique bars in what is rapidly becoming a mono-culture of intimidating themed pubs in the city.
It has survived several redevelopment attempts in the past and if it is forced to close another important piece of Brighton and Hove's history will vanish forever.
The developers must think again.
