I was sorry to hear The Quadrant, in Brighton, is to close.
However, I understand the developers have persuaded the regulars - or the official regulars, at least - that the site is too small and cramped to support a premier drinking establishment.
I gather they have promised to build a nice new one somewhere in the middle of the Downs and meanwhile suggested there are some nice pubs just a few miles off the M25.
