Three people were hurt after two cars plunged 25ft over an embankment in the pouring rain.
The vehicles careered over the precipice at the Home Farm Business Park, Lewes Road, Brighton.
Firefighters from Preston Circus had to cut the injured people, two in each car, from the wreckage.
Three people were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. A fourth refused medical treatment.
One of the injured suffered neck and back injuries and a second was suffering from shock.
It was raining heavily when the accident happened at 5.40pm yesterday.
Police officers from the traffic unit at Shoreham were investigating how the accident happened.
