Whether it takes a National Park or not, I hope everyone bands together to protect the beauty of the South Downs.
As a fan of Brighton and Hove who has travelled there for the past 25 years, one of my main delights has been a quiet walk on the Downs.
On my last trip, I noticed new homes were steadily marching forward on the Downs, spoiling some of the views I have cherished for years.
I wish I could be there now to help in the effort to prevent further destruction of your area's overwhelming beauty.
